Dogs

Colonel is very playful and loves his plush toys, he likes to take one with him wherever he goes. He is affectionate, likes to nuzzle up to you and enjoys going on walks.
He is a neutered male, tan and black German Shepherd Dog and Alaskan Husky. The shelter staff think he is about 2 years old. He has been at the shelter since January 2nd, 2026.

Pete is very friendly and likes to be with you and part of the party, he even keeps one ear raised, ready to listen in on all the tea. Pete has lots of playful energy and loves to play with plush toys and squeaky toys. He knows his basic commands and also likes other dogs with a similar outgoing, playful personality.
Pete is a neutered male, black and white Pit Bull Terrier mix. The shelter staff think he is about 3 years old. He has been at the shelter since January 27th, 2026.

Love is very friendly, affectionate and loves playing with plush toys. He makes new friends wherever he goes thanks to his outgoing personality and winning smile.
Love is a neutered male, brown brindle Pit Bull Terrier. The shelter staff think he is about 4 years old. He has been at the shelter since April 27th, 2026.

Leonidas is a total couch potato and the perfect buddy for watching the game. He loves head scratches, cozying up and enjoying life at a leisurely pace.
Leonidas is a neutered male, white and black Pit Bull Terrier mix. The shelter staff think he is about 4 years old. He has been at the shelter since July 5th, 2026.

Hummus is the happiest boy! He loves pets, cuddling up next to you, playing with squeaky toys and being brushed. Hummus is looking for a home where he is the only pet and with no young children.
Hummus is a neutered male, red and white Siberian Husky. The shelter staff think he is about 2 years old. He has been at the shelter since July 12th, 2026.

Tabouli-A069140

Tabouli can be shy when meets new people and was feeling scared when she first arrived at the shelter as a stray. But everyday she is feeling safer and starting to show off her cute personality. She loves going on walks with shelter volunteers, knows her basic commands and loves treats, especially jerky or salmon.
Tabouli is a female, gray and white Pit Bull Terrier. The shelter staff are not sure her age. She has been at the shelter since July 12, 2026.

When Pine-Sol arrived at the shelter the vet determined that he had a prolapsed urethra which required surgery to repair. We stepped in and covered the cost his surgery at Sevilla Animal Hospital. The surgery was $2,800 and we are happy that thanks to donations we had the funds available to help this sweet boy.
Pine-Sol is healing and doing so great! Now he is ready to find his forever home. He is so adorable, likes gentle pets, salmon treats and curling up beside you.
Pine-Sol is a neutered male, tan Chihuahua mix. The shelter staff think he is about 2 years old. He has been at the shelter since July 31st, 2026.

Escuela-A069202

Meet puppy Escuela, it’s time to find this sweet girl her forever home. Escuela arrived at the shelter with an unknown injury to her left rear leg. The shelter staff took her to their vet who determined that she had a fracture, requiring immediate surgery at Sevilla Animal Hospital. The surgery was $3,900 and thanks to donations we covered the cost of her surgery. We were very happy to be able to step in and help.

Escuela has not let her injury hold her back! She is a bundle of joy, wagging her tail, giving kisses and showing off what a cutie-pie she is. Now it is time to find her a loving forever home where she can continue to heal with lots of tlc and cuddles.
She is around 7-8 months old, female, brown brindle Boston Terrier. She has been at the shelter since July 29th, 2026.

Shawarma likes going on walks, gentle pets and jerky treats.
He is a male, tan and black German Shepherd dog mix. The shelter staff are not sure his age. He has been at the shelter since August 1st, 2026.

Polly D has an extra toe on each front paw which makes her a very special polydactyl cat. She is a little shy at first, but she is coming out of her shell. She enjoys playing with feather wand toys and loves Churu treats.
Polly D is a spayed female, gray tabby and white Domestic Shorthair. The shelter staff think she is about 10 months old. She has been at the shelter since April 28th, 2026.

Axel is such a sweet little kitty. He likes to be held and loves pets, attention and playing with his sister Slash.
He is a male, black and white Domestic shorthair. The shelter staff think that he is about 13 weeks old. He has been at the shelter since June 19th, 2026.

Slash-A069073

Slash is all about playtime and looking cute. She loves belly rubs, being held and pets. She also likes cuddling and playing with her brother Axel.
She is a female, black and white Domestic shorthair. The shelter staff think that she is about 13 weeks old. She has been at the shelter since June 22nd, 2026.

Ellie is a tortie cat and like most torties she has lots of personality. She likes looking pretty, gentle pets, afternoon naps and curling up next to you. She also loves catnip and her scratchy mat.
She is a spayed female, tortie point Domestic Shorthair. The shelter staff think that she is about 5 years old. She has been at the shelter since July 3rd, 2026.

Mimi is very sweet, loves pets, getting lots of attention and cuddling up.
She is a spayed female, brown tabby and white Domestic Shorthair. The shelter staff think she is about 1 year old. She has been at the shelter since August 26th, 2026.

The shelter often has litters of young kittens in their care. To help them they need lots of extra care like kitten formula added to their food, monitored feeding, special heated beds and much more. By sponsoring them you are helping to ensure they have all they need to be healthy and happy. To sponsor the kittens at the shelter write ‘kittens’ in the note when you donate.

Small Animals

Currently there are no small animals available for adoption. But please check back, the Santa Monica Animal Shelter often has rabbits and other small animals waiting for their forever homes.

Sponsoring helps cover: veterinary care, medicine, food, toys and any other items they need to enrich their stay at the shelter.

When you Sponsor an available animal we will email you a Certificate of Sponsorship which includes a short bio on the pet along with their photograph. Sponsoring a pet makes a wonderful gift and you can present the Certificate as the gift.

All donations make a difference, but a donation of $25 or more will have the greatest impact.
