Pet Portraits

For the 2025-2026 school year we are once again working with our friend MaryAnne’s students, and this year she is teaching 4th grade at The American School of Paris. We are very excited to have students in Paris drawing the animals and helping the Santa Monica Animal Shelter. The students pet portraits are fabulous and we know these will help the animals find their forever homes.

Team Liquid Race to World First x Santa Monica Animal Shelter Campaign

From August 12th-August 24th 2025 the incredible group at Team Liquid and the Race to World First campaign raised $19,412 to help the animals at the shelter. They also worked to help the animals find forever homes by highlighting them live on air.

On August 19th our Board Chair Elizabeth along with Animal Control Officer Taylor and dog Mister Ree had the chance to visit the Team Liquid studio and they had the best time! They shared about the shelter and how much donations make a difference live on air and Mister Ree charmed everyone he met. It was so much fun! Also, a group from Team Liquid visited the shelter to help promote the available animals and filmed a short video.

We are thrilled to be the charity of choice for Team Liquid and the Race to World First campaign for three year’s in a row and are incredibly grateful to Team Liquid for all their support and to the amazing Team Liquid Community for their generosity! In 2024 the Team Liquid and the Team Liquid Community raised over $25,000 to help the animals at the shelter from September 17th-29th 2024 and in September of 2023 they also raised $25,000.

Student Groups

We regularly partner with students from local schools and help them find the best way they can support the shelter and make difference. Students have held donation drives, bake sales, volunteered at the shelter, made toys and items for the pets and much more.

Clear the Shelters

Every year we look forward to participating in the NBC4 and Telemundo Clear the Shelters, an annual event where animal shelters and nonprofit rescue organizations throughout Southern California partner with the stations to create awareness about pet adoptions and help Clear the Shelters.

St. James’ Episcopal School Pet Portraits

During the 2024-2025 school year the students in MaryAnne’s 3rd grade class at St. James’ Episcopal School drew the animals to help them find their forever homes. The pet portraits were wonderful and we are very grateful for their support! View some of their work in the slideshow.

Silly Dog

Silly Dog donates a percent of their sales every month to help the animals at the Santa Monica Animal Shelter. They are an awesome local brand where you send them an image of your dog, they draw your dog wearing sunglasses and create a customized hoodie or t-shirt just for you. CO-OPPORTUNITY MARKET

Thank you Co-opportunity Market! We were the Register Round Up Nonprofit partner for July-September 2024 and they raised over $3,300 for the animals at the shelter. When you shopped at the Co-opportunity Market during the summer of 2024 you could round up your grocery bill to the nearest dollar and the difference will be donated to us.

Crystal Manning

Crystal Manning is an incredible Olympic athlete who is dedicated to giving back and helping causes that are close to her heart. We are so grateful for her support. Thank you Crystal Manning and Athletes for Hope.

Gnarwhal Coffee Co.

During the month of August 2022 we partnered with Gnarwhal Coffee Co. The partnership was a tremendous success and we received a donation of $8,930.43. We are incredibly grateful for this fantastic donation! Thank you Gnarwhal Coffee Co. and the Gnarwhal Community Foundation for all of your support and thank you to everyone who visited Gnarwhal Coffee Co. during August to help raise funds for the Santa Monica Animal Shelter. This donation will make a difference and will go far in helping us and our mission to support the Shelter.

We were very happy to have been selected by the Santa Monica Buffalo Exchange store as the recipient of their Buffalo Exchange Tokens for Bags®program. From July through December 2022 you were able to support us just by shopping at the Buffalo Exchange store in Santa Monica.

Ross Mathews Bubbly Brunch

Ross Mathews and Ross Mathews Bubbly Brunch donated a percent of all raffle sales from their June 19th 2022 Ross Mathews Dragtastic Bubbly Brunch at the Loews Hotel in Santa Monica.
