Santa Monica Animal Shelter Open House Fundraiser

Join us for a fun afternoon to help the animals at the Santa Monica Animal Shelter.

At the fundraiser:

• Tour the shelter and meet the animals waiting to be adopted, adoption fees will be reduced

• For a small donation you could win fantastic prizes from our raffle

• Bid on unique experiences in our silent auction

• Face painting by The Magical Atelier

• Balloon animals from Wild About Balloons LA

• Meet the Santa Monica Police Department Mounted Unit

• Burgers from Troop 2 Santa Monica

• Coffee and pastries from the Starbucks location at 2200 Colorado Ave.

• DJ and more Fun Activities!

This year will be our fourth annual Open House Fundraiser and we can’t wait to see you there.

Raffle Prizes

• Balanced Dog Grooming-Gift certificate good at any location for a complimentary Bath & Brush, Tidy Trim or Complete Groom.

• LA Opera-Two complimentary orchestra level tickets to the closing night of LA Opera's Rigoletto at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on 6.21.25.

• Pacific Park-2 unlimited ride passes for Pacific Park at the Santa Monica Pier, valued at $100.

Raffle tickets will be available for a donation at the fundraiser on June 7th from 12-3pm. The raffle will take place at the end of the event at 3pm, all winners who are not present will be contacted. Items must be picked up by the winner at the Animal Shelter by Saturday, June 28th 2025, at 5pm.

Silent Auction

The following will be part of the silent auction

Ride-Along with the Santa Monica Harbor Officers-The wonderful opportunity to ride on a Harbor Patrol rescue boat and see Santa Monica in a new way.

• 1-hour Santa Monica Harbor tour

• Ride with the Santa Monica Harbor Officers on the Monica 1

• Invite up to 10 guests to join you on this unique experience, participants must be at least 8 years old.

Learning Experience with the Santa Monica Police Forensics Department-A very unique opportunity to spend ½ day (4 -6 hours) in the laboratory with Forensics.

• Lab Tour

• History of friction ridge (fingerprints) and review the process of the development in the lab

• History of forensic science

• Collection of evidence in the field (lab setting or tow yard)

• Preserving evidence for probative value

• Development of forensic evidence in the lab (to include making chemicals/using the chemicals on the evidence they collected/developing the evidence for court)

• How they locate suspects using the automated fingerprint identification system

• Presenting evidence to Detectives as a potential Lead

All silent auction items will be available to bid on in person only at the fundraiser from 12-3pm on June 7th. At the conclusion of the event we will contact the highest bid.

All the items in our raffle and silent auction are all generously donated. We are very thankful for all the support!

All funds we raise go to the Santa Monica Animal Shelter and make a difference in the care and well-being of the animals.

We regularly participate in events to help raise funds and get the word out about the shelter. A few of the events we have participated in most recently include:

Open Main Street Halloween Festival October 21st, 2023.

Coffee with a Cop December 12th, 2023.

Clear the Shelters Day August 26th, 2023.

National Night Out August 1st, 2023.

More past events:

Santa Monica Brew Works-We have had two fun fundraisers at the wonderful Santa Monica Brew Works: October 2021 and July 2022. At both events they donated a percent of sales from their flagship beers to us. We had a great time and in addition to raising funds we were able to showcase many of the available animals at the Santa Monica Animal Shelter.

We also have had several events where you are able to visit a local business and raise funds to help the Santa Monica Animal Shelter. Such as June 6th, 2022 at The Counter Restaurant.
