Kacey Montoya with KTLA Weekend Morning News has had many segments where she showcases the available animals live on air to help them find their forever home and has shared the news about our Open House Fundraiser’s. Kacey is always ready to help us and we are so grateful for all the support!
Angelique Brenes, a digital producer with KTLA, wrote a story in August 2025 about how the shelter is over capacity and we are sponsoring adoptions, read the story here.
Megan Telles with KTLA Weekend Morning News visited the Shelter on July 31st 2022 and filmed two segments live on air featuring available animals.
August 2nd, 2025, our friend Kacey Montoya with KTLA 5 Weekend Morning News highlighting dogs Drogo and Weezy at the Santa Monica animal shelter and sharing that the shelter is over capacity and to help the Santa Monica Animal Shelter Foundation is sponsoring adoptions.

Thanks to Dr.Lavac, Medical Director at VCA Wilshire Animal Hospital, many pets at the shelter have been showcased in his monthly feature, here are a few:
February 2025 Issue-Lionel was the featured ‘adopt a pet’ on pg.10.
March 2025 Issue-Rabbit Picos was the featured ‘adopt a pet’ on pg.10.
August 2025 Issue-Cat Jack was featured on pg. 10.
September 2025 Issue-Marshmallow will be featured on pg.10.
